Freddy Delirio
Journey (Black Widow BWRDIST 502, 1992/2012, CD)
Italian label Black widow reissued Freddy Delirio’s keyboard album Journey in 2012. The original recording came out in 1992. The reissue version contains three bonus tracks recorded years later.
The original tracks on Journey feature a wide-range of keyboards, including various types of synths and organ with some stellar solos. The percussion on most pieces consists of electronic pop beats. It gets considerably better on the spacey track ‘Dreamland’ and ‘Witches’ Sabbath’ where Freddy Delirio uses sequences in a similar to Tangerine Dream.
The bonus tracks have a much more modern sound quality. All three new compositions, Desire, Scarlet, and Starlight, are beautiful neoclassical pieces with piano and symphonic synths.
Freddy Delirio is the artistic name of keyboard wizard Federico Pedichini. Freddy Delirio played keyboards for Italian heavy metal band Death SS and the lead singer for the hard rock band Harem.
