American jazz keyboardist Lyle Mays passed away on February 10, 2020. Mays was best known for his work as composer and arranger for the Pat Metheny Group. The celebrated jazz fusion band won eleven Grammy Awards.
In a press release circulated in social media, Pat Metheny said: “It is with great sadness that we have to report the passing of our friend and brother, Lyle Mays (1953-2020). He passed today in Los Angeles after a long battle with a recurring illness, surrounded by loved ones.”
