Composer and pianist Chick Corea is set to release a 2-CD/3-LP album titled Plays on August 28, 2020 through Concord Jazz.
The pieces featured on Plays represent the wide range of Corea’s keyboard influences. He includes the classical repertoire with pieces by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Domenico Scarlatti, Alexander Scriabin and Frédéric Chopin along with jazz influences that include Bill Evans and Thelonious Monk. There is also Antônio Carlos Jobim’s bossa nova, material from The Great American Songbook and music by Stevie Wonder.
