Electronic music wizard Simon Posford, better known for his superb psychedelic electronic band Shpongle, has released an exquisite and deeply satisfying solo album full of entrancing tracks.
Part of the electronic music on Flux & Contemplation is slow tempo, rich in profound evolving drones, ambient atmospheres and mysterious, ghostly distant voices. You’ll also find the childlike melodies that appear in Shpongle’s recordings and, of course, Posford’s trademark transfixing and stylishly trippy sequences.
Posford recorded this masterful album while staying at home during the COVID-19 pandemic.
