Lucas Lee – Síndrome de Estocolmo (Lucas Lee Music, 2021)
Síndrome de Estocolmo (Stockholm Syndrome) is the new album from Washington state-based Canadian multi-instrumentalist Lucas lee. This a high intensity recording where masterfully-crafted progressive rock with odd meters and intricate interplay combined with avant-garde influences, jazz-rock and psychedelia.
Whether intentional or not, it has a resemblance to the great Canterbury-style group National Health and modern King Crimson as well. At times, Lucas Lee strays a little too far into metal, but thankfully it is kept to a minimum.
The lineup includes Lucas Lee on guitars, bass, piano, synthesizers, organ, Rhodes, Mellotron, minor percussion, choir, and voice over; Marco Minnemann on drums; Jordan Reynolds on voice over; and Pat Mastelotto on cymbow.
