Lessons From The Dreamtime – Seven Stars & Orion (Fluttery Records, 2020)
Seven Stars & Orion is a deeply mesmerizing ambient electronic music album from Lessons From The Dreamtime, a project founded by composer, multi-instrumentalist and sound designer Jesse Travis Maddox from Denver, Colorado.
Lessons From The Dreamtime incorporates cinematic atmospheres, prepared piano, minimalism, world music and other influences. Guests include Tony Levin on bass; Alex Acuña on percussion; multi-instrumentalists Brahim Fribgane and Shoji Kameda; Rufus Cappadocia on cello; Kendall Flores on vocals; and musician and producer Rhys Fulber.
Seven Stars & Orion was inspired by the seven major stars in the Pleiades and their connections to history, religion and mythology. It was after reading the Sumerian story, The Epic of Gilgamesh (written in 2000 BC), that this album concept became a reality for Jesse Maddox.
