Norwegian multi-instrumentalist and composer Ole Teigen is set to release his debut album “Aske og Jord” (Apollon Records) on June 2, 2021.
“Aske og Jord” (Ashes and Earth) is described as a classical album with neoclassical and minimalist jazz influences although it could also fall under progressive rock rooted in classical music. It is a tribute and an artistic response to a calamity. When Ole’s older brother committed suicide, Ole sought shelter in music. He wanted life to continue; that the meaningless should have meaning, and that agony should be love.
The music on “Aske og Jord” was originally performed at a memorial exhibit featuring the art of both Ole and Karl Teigen. The inner sleeve/booklet for the album contains one piece of artwork from each of them.
Ole Teigen has background in heavy metal, classic rock, and blues. He has performed with Superlynx, Dødheimsgard, and Ole Devil & The Spirit Chasers.
