Trifecta, a new progressive music band is set to release its debut album “Fragments” on August 20, 2021 on Kscope. The jazz-rock trio has released two singles included in the album: “Pavlov’s Dog Killed Schrodinger’s Cat” and the newly unveiled “Have You Seen What The Neighbors Are Doing?”.
Trifecta includes three excellent musicians who have a background in jazz rock and progressive rock: bassist and songwriter Nick Beggs; keyboard maestro Adam Holzman and skilled drummer Craig Blundell.
Nick Beggs explains how the trio came up with the new piece: “The track, ‘Have You Seen What The Neighbors Are Doing?’, was written after hearing a song by Ween titled ‘So Many People In The Neighbourhood.’ We liked the song so much we decided to construct a reply. The video was shot on location while on the planet of the prehistoric women. However the trip was fraught with problems after Craig and Adam both realized they had failed to pack a tooth brush. Luckily I was on hand to share mine with them.”
The three musicians have performed together as part of Steven Wilson’s band. They enjoyed jamming together after soundchecks and formed formed what they describe as a “jazz club.” The musical ideas came from these sessions.
Most of “Fragments” leans toward a fusion of jazz rock and is primarily instrumental with the exception of one track.
Fragments will be available on CD, various vinyl LP options, and digitally.
