Esoteric Recordings has announced the release of Feeling Free, The Complete Recordings 1971-1973 of progressive rock band Fields. Release date is February 25, 2022.
The remastered 2-CD edition features all of the surviving recordings by Fields founded by former Rare Bird member Graham Field. The set includes the albums ‘Fields’ and ‘Contrasts’ plus a previously unreleased BBC session and session out-takes along with an illustrated booklet with essay.
When the first line-up of Rare Bird disbanded in early 1971, keyboard player Graham Field formed a new group and the self-titled album they recorded and released in 1971 was a magnificent example of British Progressive Rock.
After this, the band recorded a follow-up album in 1972 that was oddly set aside by CBS Records and remained consigned to the vaults for over 40 years.
