Perfect Plan returned in December of 2021, with an album release of their live YouTube show at Sharpener’s House. The show was recorded in 2020, during the beginning of the pandemic, to give fans a chance to see the band live in action. But they loved it so much, they wanted physical copies of the show. So, the AOR/melodic rock band from Sweden gave the fans what they wanted.
The band, Perfect Plan is made up of Ken Hill, on lead vocals; Rolf Nordstrom, on lead guitar and backing vocals; Mats Byström, on bass, and backing vocals; Leif Ehlin, on keyboards and backing vocals; and Fredrik Forsberg, on drums and backing vocals.
This is a wonderful gift for all Perfect Plan fans. Wish more bands would have thought of doing what they did here for their fans. Play a live concert for your fans who cannot get to your shows because of a pandemic. Ken Hill is going to do great job as the new lead singer of the famous AOR band Giant. I am really looking forward to that new album. Until then, this album should give Perfect Plans fans what they want. This album is mixed with some of Perfect Plans’ best songs and some wonderful covers. The band’s Europe – like sound is wonderful. Good solid AOR melodic rock. Much better than what we are left with, these days, in the USA, just Bon Jovi covers and look a-likes.
The cover of Foreigner’s “That Was Yesterday”, is the best proof that you could find that Ken Hill can stand in for greatness. Best song on the album. Yes, I am a Foreigner fan, especially Agent Provocateur, 4, and the debut album.
Although Ken Hill takes center stage, without awesome backing musicians, the show would fall flat. This band plays excellent, well-planned music; from keyboards, drums, and bass, to the excellent electric guitar work. Every song is a winner. The album is full of ballads and rockers. Nothing is missing. Get this, sit back and enjoy some great music…played live.
