Existenter – “Inverted Pyramid Trilogy” – EP

Existenter slipped under the radar last year. They released a dynamic and intriguing progressive metal album last year in May, Planet in the Universe. Their new album, Lonely Artist will be released sometime this year. In order to keep the fan base growing and people interested, they will release a taste of what is coming on, February 9, 2022.

The Moscow, Russia – based band is made up of: Anton Mityugin, composer, bass guitarist, and backing vocalist; Aleksandr Sidelin, the author of the music and lyrics, and also guitar player and backing vocals; Miroslava Mirova, plays keyboards;  Anton Zaitsev, plays drums; and Maya Gitsina, sings lead vocals on all the compositions.

This short EP does not give you enough of a listen to decide whether or not this new album will be as good as the last. Although I like all three songs, it is not enough. I appreciate their desire to continue the momentum, and I look forward to the new album with anticipation.

I suggest, if you are as intrigued as I, you do what I did, and go back and listen to Planet in the Universe. It is a rough metal album, with plenty of progressive rock highlights. I am already requesting a copy of Lonely Artist, for review, and hope to talk with the band before the new album is released. Until then, stay tuned and listen to the EP, Inverted Pyramid Trilogy, (what a cool title, eh!), and prepare for the future!
