Gabe Treiyer released his first album, Scars (Journey Through a Lifetime), for his new music project, Treiyer, after his solo debut album, Unsung Hero, on November 15, 2021. And he did it with several heavy hitters from the legends of progressive rock.
Gabe Treiyer is the band leader and lead guitarist, keyboard player, programming lead, and lead vocalist. The other members of the band include: Paul Parisi, on lead and backing vocals,; Nico Aranda, on bass and backing vocals; and Javier Battaglini, on drums.
The concept of the album is to put into words and music the journey of his life…so far. The album, offers insight into the journey of Gabe’s life: his experiences, his regrets, his vision…all of which came together at just the right moment.
The guests playing on this album include: Steve Hackett, who plays a guitar solo on the track “Scars I”. Steve Rothery, plays a guitar solo on “Scars II”. John Zaika, sings lead vocal, and plays keyboards on the song, “Serious”. Gabriel Agudo, sings lead vocal on “Scars I”. Dagarod, sings lead vocal on “Wake Up” and “Back to the Light”. Malcolm Galloway prepared all orchestral arrangements on “Back to the Light”. Michael Saint-Lary gives the speech, on “Scars I”.
All of the songs are engaging and provide interesting perspectives in how one should and did live their life. He covers the pitfalls as well as the successes throughout. Every track is unique sounding and emotional in the way it describes his real-life experience. My favorite tracks were: The two “Scars” songs, “Parts I and II”, with the stellar guitar solos. The closer, “Back to the Light” is very memorable for its sincere lyrics. The opening overture, “Life’s Fanfare” is also a great keyboard opener. “In the Beginning”, is also very memorable.
Get this album and prepare for more from Treiyer in the future. With ten support they have in the progressive rock community they will go far. This is a great idea and concept. I think it would be a great template for other famous musicians to write about their lives. People are very interested in interesting people. Musicians lead very interesting and creative lives. Case closed.
