Per Mathisen: Sounds of 3 Edition 2 (Losen Records, 2019)
Norwegian bass wizard Per Mathisen teamed up with two stellar musicians, guitarist Ulf Wakenius and drummer Gary Husband on “Sounds of 3 Edition 2”. Although Mathisen delivers plenty of dazzling, fiery electric bass lines, the music on this recordings leans heavier towards the jazz side. However, you’ll also find savory funk grooves and blues added into the mix.
Ulf Wakenius uses fuzzed guitar throughout the album, while Husband skillfully uses primarily the top area of the drum kit.
