Knekklectric – Alt blir verre (Apollon Records, 2022)
Alt blir verre is the third album from another fantastic band from Bergen in Norway. Knekklectric combine finely constructed progressive rock with skilled jazz fusion.
The band uses charming lead vocals, imaginative arrangements, sudden time signature changes and engaging harmony vocals. It is like a 2022 mix of Gentle Giant and Genesis, Steely Dan with vocals in Norwegian, and a bit of Frank Zappa added to the mix.
Bass player Erlend Alm Lerstad says: “It feels great to finally present something new. We are very proud of our new album, and hope people will enjoy it. I think this record is the kind you either find inspiring or exhausting.”
Knekklectric includes Johannes Drabløs Maaseide on guitar and vocals; Edvard Brøther on guitars; Jon Bolstad on drums; Erlend Alm Lerstad on bass; and Hogne Aarflot on keyboards.
