The Erinyes - "Debut - The Erinyes"

The Erinyes – “Debut – The Erinyes”

Frontiers seems to be getting all the great new bands at the end of this year. They found another in The Erinyes, who released their self-titled debut album on 09/16/2022, on Frontiers Music Srl.

The band includes three beautiful female singers, Justine Daaé, Nicoletta Rossellini, and Mizuho Lin. The band name, Erinyes, was born in Greek mythology. They are also known as the Furies, and the Eumenides. They were female chthonic deities of vengeance.

The rest of the band includes members: Aldo Lonobile, on guitars; Andrea Buratto, on bass; Michele Sanna, on drums; and Antonio Agate, on keyboards.

This debut album is a concept album, involving the Erinyes “having a dispute centered around their love interests”.

Every track is full of fire and emotion, and some of the best female choruses since Venus 5. This album is lightning outside the bottle, unleashed like a hurricane. Imagine three female singers instead of just one. Three different vocal sounds, some hard, others soft, and they mesh together in unison, to envelope your ears with magic. This is another of the best female – fronted metal albums of the year.

I enjoyed every song, but the standouts were: The opener “Life Needs Love”. The lyrics are full of emotion. The vocal harmonies at the beginning are poetic. The background orchestration, keyboards and especially those power, almost Japanese drums are perfect. One of the best songs and messages of the year.

“Drown the Flame”, has an accompanying video and it is a powerful statement from the ladies. The singing is why you buy this album, but it is the music which will make you appreciate it even more. Excellent guitar solos and guitar shredding, frame the mystical female vocals.

“On My Way to Love”, is another powder keg of explosive metal rock, and the ladies’ vocal harmonies heighten the emotion.

“Betrayed”, is another single supported with an excellent music video. A powerful song that describes the feelings of the song’s title. You will be able to feel it all in the music and more importantly in the choruses from these three Erinyes.

“Where Do We Go”, has more of the best vocal harmonies on the album.

The starry keyboard opening on “Someday” is awesome! The three vocalists sing some of their best. Some loud and powerful, others soft and emotional. The mix is wonderful. The drumming, keyboards and guitar work on this track are special and unique.

Nicoletta Rossellini’s opening showcase, on “My Kiss Goodbye” is another, real standout on the album. The lyric video captures this vocal performer’s emotions well.

The closer, “You and Me Against the World”, is the best song on the album. It almost sounds like a hymn, at its opening. The piano and three singer vocal harmonies are worth the wait. Absolutely excellent. Worth the price of admission alone. Great lyrics and a rising anthem, punctuated well with thunder drums. This is what we were all waiting for, an epic anthem to close this magical album and make you want to come back for more. Thanks.

This album is full of fantastic vocals, for sure. Some of the best of the year. But the music rises to the level these top performing vocalists meet. Every song is a winner. Please get this, just to hear the power of these three fantastic female vocalists, as they create harmony. It is worth the price of admission just to experience that sound.
