Alphataurus was a progressive rock band from the Milan region. They released a highly regarded self-titled album, “Alphataurus” (1973).
Band members included vocalist Michele Bavaro, keyboardist Pietro Pellegrini, guitarist Guido Wasserman and the rhythm section of Alfonso Oliva and Giorgio Santandrea.
They disbanded in 1973 although some of their unreleased material was published in 1992 under the title “Dietro l’uragano”.
The band reformed in 2012 and was active until 2014. The new incarnation of Alphataurus released Live In Bloom (2012), Attosecondo (2012) and Prime Numbers, a live DVD and rarities album (2014).
