Arti & Mestieri (arts and artisans) was a band from Turin that initially played a mix of symphonic progressive rock and jazz-rock. After the first album, “Tilt – Immagini Per Un Orecchio,” the band steered into jazz-rock fusion. Different incarnations of the band appeared years later.
The essential albums include Tilt (Cramps, 1974), Giro di valzer per domani (Cramps, 1975) and Quinto Stato (Cramps, 1979).
Lineup: Gigi Venegoni on guitar, synthesizer; Beppe Crovella on keyboards; Giovanni Vigliar on violin, vocals, percussion; Arturo Vitale on saxophone, clarinet, vibes; Marco Gallesi on bass; and Furio Chirico, a former member of Italian-English progressive rock band The Trip, on drums, percussion.
