Tony Pagliuca - Rosa Mystica

Tony Pagliuca Visits the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary

Tony Pagliuca – Rosa Mystica (M.P. & Records MPRCD100, 2021)

Tony Pagliuca, the legendary keyboard player of Italian progressive rock band Le Orme, released this beautiful album in 2021. “Rosa Mystica” is inspired by the sacred Catholic prayer Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary, developed in collaboration with the late composer and musician Maestro Vittore Ussardi.

“Rosa Mystica” contains symphonic progressive rock elements in terms of drums, bass, keyboards and other modern instrumentation. Additionally, you will find soothing solo vocals reciting prayers accompanied by a chorus. Amusingly, the transitions between the various stages feature Hawaiian ukulele strumming.

The artists on “Rosa Mystica” include Elisabetta Montino, historical vocalist of the progressive rock group Quanah Parker; Andrea Saccoman on vocals; Tony Pagliuca on keyboards; Giuseppe Vio on guitars; Alberto Pagliuca on ukulele; and Paolo Vianello on drums.

Antonio “Tony” Pagliuca joined Le Orme in 1968 and helped transition the group from a beat act to a progressive rock band. His contribution to Le Orme was fundamental, composing and performing masterpieces such as “Collage“, “Uomo di Pezza“, “Felona and Sorona” and various other albums. In 1990, Tony Pagliuca started a solo career with the album “Io chiedo.”

The physical CD is enclosed in an elegant cardboard box, designed and created by OndemediE, with a booklet embellished with pencil artwork by Rome artist Beatrice Cignitti.
