Italian composer and pianist Emiliano D’Auria delivers an exquisite set of instrumental music grounded in contemporary jazz, chamber music and a dash of tango on “In-Equilibrio.”
D’Auria’s impeccable piano (and other keyboards) tastefully and decidedly intertwines with his colleagues’ acoustic and electric instruments with total ease.
Although the musicians have a jazz background and have admirable technical skills, the music is masterfully structured, precious and beautifully melodic.
The guest on “In-Equilibrio” is brass instrument maestro Luca Aquino, who unleashes stellar performances on trumpet, flügelhorn and trombone.
