Ambient electronic music veteran Craig Padilla and guitarist Marvin Allen have joined forces once again for their third collaboration, “Weathering the Storm,” on Spotted Peccary Music. This album is a continuation of their signature sound, a dreamlike and breathtaking electronic landscape created with Allen’s 12-string acoustic guitar and Padilla’s synthesizers.
The Umbrella Girl, who appears on the cover of all three of their collaborations, represents a seeker who is searching for meaning in a chaotic world. In “Weathering the Storm,” Padilla and Allen take the listener on an absorbing and hypnotic journey through a fusion of early 1970s krautrock and modern electronic ambient production.
Marvin Allen is a multi-talented musician based in northern California who has contributed to numerous projects, including jingles and film soundtracks. He is also a co-founder of the Shasta Blues Society and is dedicated to mentoring young musicians. Craig Padilla is a prolific artist with over 40 releases, known for his ability to incorporate traditional elements into modern electronic music while retaining its human touch.
