Koldvoid – Wilderness Retreat (Sun & Moon Records, 2023)
In the heart of Transylvania, Romania, a ghost ambient/dark ambient project known as Koldvoid has been conjuring twisted sound collages since 2008. Their influences range from classic dark ambient electronic artists on Cold Meat Industry to film composer Angelo Badalamenti and electronic pioneers Tangerine Dream and Vangelis, as well as contemporary artists like Boards of Canada and Ulver.
With its ominous, otherworldly, dramatic, and experimental nature, Koldvoid’s music is tailor-made for solitary, late-night listening, offering an escape into the wilderness that lies beyond the realm of our daily lives.
Koldvoid has already released several singles and split records, but it was their 2012 full-length album, “Roadside Ghosts,” that gained them notoriety under the banner of Valse Sinistre Productions.
