The Allman Brothers Band has released a special, limited edition 2-LP package called “Syria Mosque: Pittsburgh, PA January 17, 1971” on “Pittsburgh Steel Grey” vinyl, exclusively for participating indie record stores as part of Record Store Day.
The recording, restored and remastered from the band’s soundboard, captures a pivotal period in the band’s history, eight weeks before their iconic At Fillmore East album was recorded.
The performance features the original ABB line-up and showcases their spontaneous improvisation style, with notable performances of “Statesboro Blues,” “Elizabeth Reed,” and “Whipping Post.”
This is the first official release of this recording, which had been circulating among ABB fans as a cassette for years, and occasionally a bootleg CD or vinyl disc.
