Keyboardist Derek Sherinian and drummer Simon Phillips have unveiled their highly anticipated ‘Sherinian/Phillips Live’ (InsideOutMusic), an album that captures their extraordinary collaboration. The record encapsulates a remarkable concert experience at The Grape in Ventura, California, on August 29th, 2022.
Sherinian/Phillips, the brainchild of virtuosos Derek Sherinian and Simon Phillips, forms an extraordinary musical alliance that transcends the boundaries of conventional genres. Although their paths had diverged due to prior commitments, the recording of 2020’s groundbreaking album, ‘The Phoenix,’ marked a pivotal reunion that reignited their creative synergy.
The setlist incorporated several tracks from their latest studio album, ‘Vortex,’ including “Vortex,” “Seven Seas,” and “Aurora Australis” (originally featuring Bumblefoot).
Derek Sherinian said: “After 20 years of making albums together, it was a great pleasure bringing this music to life with Simon for the first time.”
