Littus – Instrumental State (Littus, 2023)
Littus is a captivating instrumental band from Helsinki, Finland, that came into existence in August 2009. On their new album, Instrumental State, the musicians deliver an enticing mix of nuanced symphonic progressive rock, skillful jazz-rock, cinematic music and other influences.
My favorite track by far is the exquisite, beautifully crafted “Sleepwalking,” a piece deeply influenced by Steve Hackett. Other highlights include “Dusk: The Twilight Zone” and the cinematic suite “Retreating Back To Atlantis.”
