Bluetech – Petite Constellations (DiN/Behind the Sky, 2026)
Electronic music composer Evan Bartholomew, who records as Bluetech, has released a 13-track album titled Petite Constellations. On past recordings he has produced a wide range of electronic music styles, such as ambient, downtempo, and rhythm-driven electronic music. However, on Petite Constellations he introduces a more compact and overtly melodic approach.
Each track functions as a musical miniature, with a concise structure that recalls the piano works of Erik Satie. The album also pays subtle tribute to Mort Garson’s Mother Earth’s Plantasia. This is done by masterfully combining analog synthesizer counterpoint with compositions that shift between cosmic themes and microscopic detail.
Bluetech said the project encouraged him to focus on internal melodies, broad gestures, and small compositional elements. The album’s “as above, so below” concept connects those details to its larger thematic scope.
DiN will release Petite Constellations as a limited-edition Digipak CD, while Behind the Sky will handle the vinyl edition. Both formats will feature the same artwork.
Bluetech’s previous release for DiN was Liquid Geometries (2018).
