Leon was produced by Trevor Reilly.

The epic launch of this album starts with an over 11-and-a-half-minute track named, “White Hot Chariot”. It is full of bold keyboards and orchestration before bass, lead electric guitar and Mark Arruda’s first vocals soar, “We rode for hours towards the sky”. Not sure who to compare his vocals with. Not distinctive enough, but good. It is the music that dominates, with this band. Epic, dramatic, music full of deep bass, powerful and emotional guitars and keyboards. Kind of a great mix between, maybe a heavier Kansas, without the violin, Rush keyboards, maybe Styx, and Yes. Somewhere in between that mix. But very original and energetic music, well timed. Just enough cool hard rock play in there to keep them from being just another progressive rock band. I’m sure these guys can rock and bring an audience to its feet. Cool keyboards around the 5-minute mark. The keyboards that follow are epic!

“Of the Same Design – Part 1”, opens with cool electric guitar picking, followed by great bass, then kicker drums. Arruda sings, “Saw the sun…in a dream state made for two”. Leon’s pots and pans, around the 3-minute mark are simply perfect. Great effect.

“Of the Same Design – Part 2”, opens with heavier bass and drums and less keyboards. Then, cool keys are added as drums, bass and guitar build momentum and melody. More like an ELO epic, than any of the other songs. A very good instrumental.

“The Rider”, opens with very excellent electric guitar, softly played with bass. Absolutely killer opening to one of the best tracks on the album. Another epic at over 10 minutes. I think even Jimmy Page would love this opening. Zeppelinesque for sure. Then, they almost ruin it with a 38 Special- like excursion, at a little after 1:45. But they settle back into keyboards and progressive rock, thankfully. The keyboards around 6:45 are awesome!

Leon, by Lazertüth is a good introduction to this band. I am glad I found this band and I think you should give them a try. Leon is a great album to begin enjoying the music of this band.
