Volker Lankow – 14 Years Through A Turmoiled World (self-release, 2018)

German ambient electronic music artist Volker Lankow released the deeply mesmerizing 14 Years Through A Turmoiled World on June 17, 2018. The album documents his humanitarian work with Médecins sans frontières (Doctors Without Borders) from 2000 to 2014 and is one of his early releases.

The record is dedicated to MSF staff and the communities they support across the world. Lankow credits the organization for enabling fourteen years of field experience that shaped the project’s focus and scope.

Markus Reuter mixed and mastered all tracks. The lineup features Lankow on percussion and electronics, with guests Michael Peters on guitar and bass (track 5) and Mats Hedberg on guitars (tracks 1, 9, 10). The cover photo comes from Lankow himself.
