A two-day rock festival called Celebr8.2 will bring together progressive rock and heavy metal bands to Kingston Upon Thames in southwest London. The event will take place at Hippodrome on 1 St James Road, Kingston on May 11-12, starting at 1:00 pm.
Although it’s being advertised as a progressive rock festival, it’s heavily slanted towards heavy metal/hard rock bands with a handful of progressive rock bands thrown in. The acts worth checking out for progressive rock fans include IOEarth (UK), Haken (UK), Alan Reed (UK) and District 97 (USA).
The rest of the performers are Threshold, Arena, Frost, Mystery and Harvest. Arena was a well-known progressive rock band that morphed into a hard rock/metal band in recent years.
