Atomhenge has announced the release of a five-disc collection of material by progressive space rock pioneers Hawkwind released on the Flicknife label between 1981 and 1988. The album titled The Flicknife Years: 1981-1988 is scheduled for release on April 28, 2014.
During the 1980s, Flicknife Records released three classic compilations in the Friends and Relations series, together with the albums Zones and Out & Intake which brought together studio tracks and live recordings made by Hawkwind.
The five albums albums have all been newly remastered and are now available in one collection, packaged in a clamshell box with each CD in a slip case with restored artwork.
Also featured are eleven bonus tracks taken from singles, including the Hurry on Sundown EP, two live tracks recorded at Stonehenge Free Festival in June 1984 and two live tracks recorded at Bristol Custom Bike show in August 1986.
