Anathema have a new studio album titled Label Distant Satellites (Kscope). “Distant Satellites is the culmination of everything Anathema been working up to so far in our musical path. It contains almost every conceivable element of the heartbeat of Anathema music that it is possible to have,” says Anathema about the album.

Distant Satellites was recorded at Cederberg Studios in Oslo with producer Christer-André Cederberg. Steven Wilson mixed the album. Anathema also worked with Dave Stewart (Porcupine Tree, Steven Wilson) to create the album’s orchestral arrangements.

The new album also features a style composed by the Cavanagh brothers and drummer John Douglas that will be instantly recognizable to Anathema’s worldwide audience. It also includes steps into unfamiliar territory, including the electronica-driven material on the title track.

Supplementing the album is the ethereal artwork created by Korean new media artist Sang Jun Yoo, based around his Distant Light Installation in New York.

Anathema are gearing up to begin extensively touring Distant Satellites starting with Australian dates, selected summer festivals and a tour across the Europe in the autumn.
