British guitar master Dave Kilminster’s latest recording, …and THE TRUTH will set you free… showcases a wide arrange of electric guitar techniques in the form of folk-rock, blues-rock, classic rock, pop hooks, and a bit of progressive rock.
Dave Kilminster toured with Roger Waters’ The Wall Tour last year. “I returned from The Wall tour, both exhausted and exhilarated, and ready to direct all of that inspiration, passion and creativity into a new project. A year later, I held the master for this album in my hand… knowing it’s undoubtedly the best solo work I’ve ever done…,” says Kilminster.
…and THE TRUTH will set you free… is a guitar lover’s album, loaded with killer solos, occasional shredding, and spectacular guitar sounds and effects.
Dave Kilminster sings all the vocals on the album. The overdubs and harmonies are outstanding. At times the result sounds like Crosby, Stills and Nash joined Kilminster in the background.
Instead of using keyboards to add a symphonic sound, Kilminster incorporates a string quartet. The rhythm section features Pete Riley on drums and Phil Williams on bass, both of whom toured with Dave as part of the Keith Emerson Band. They also recorded with Dave on his first solo rock album ‘Scarlet – The Director’s Cut’.
