American band Thank You Scientist is set to perform at ProgDay 2013, the nineteenth edition of the world’s longest running progressive rock festival. The festival this year is scheduled for Saturday, August 31st, and Sunday, September 1st, 2013. The primary venue is Storybook Farm in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Thank You Scientist was formed in New Jersey in 2010. Named “The Top Unsigned Act in the Tri-State Area” after the release of their debut EP, the full-length “Maps Of Non-Existent Places” followed in 2012.

The seven piece ensemble performs a mix of progressive rock, improvisatory avant-garde, fusion, and world music.

Band members include Salvatore Marrano on vocals; Tom Monda on fretted and fretless guitar, acoustic guitar, shamisen, cello, vocals; Russell Lynch on violin, viola, mandolin, vocals; Andrew Digrius on trumpet, flugelhorn, trombone, vocals; Ellis Jasenovic on tenor and soprano saxophone; Greg Colacino on bass; and Odin Alvarez on drums and percussion.
