Snarky Puppy has released a new track titled “Belmont,” the third single from their upcoming album, “Empire Central“.
Written by bassist Michael League, “Belmont” refers to the name of the street on which he lived during his years in Dallas, Texas, located blocks away from the Bernard Wright Trio’s Monday night residency at Gezellig. When the bar would close at 2:00 a.m., the band and other local musicians would head to Michael’s house for a weekly after-party.
“Belmont” represents what was a very special moment in Snarky Puppy’s history.
