Established in 2010 as a musical venture initiated by Marco, a songwriter and guitarist-keyboardist, Edenya has consistently undergone transformations throughout the years. Following the release of an E.P in 2017 and the well-received debut album Silence in 2020, praised by critics globally (including France, England, Quebec, Belgium, Netherlands, USA), Edenya released its ambitious second album, Another place, which became available on January 13, 2023.
Drawing inspiration from a diverse range of musical genres, Edenya explores everything from rock to folk, encompassing progressive rock and ambient electronic music. The seamless combination of Clélia’s soft yet powerful vocals with Marco’s dynamic melodies creates a captivating experience for the listener, oscillating between energetic and delicate tones, immersing them in intense atmospheres and emotions.
Another Place is a delightful atmospheric progressive rock album. Indeed, the duo seamlessly combines charming vocals, rich and elegant atmospheres, folk-style acoustic guitars, and exquisite solo keyboard work. The album features a duality of moods, transitioning between serene and melancholic tones, and moments of powerful drums, electric bass, and guitars.
The initial half of Another Place radiates serenity with positive lyrics and ethereal keyboards, while the latter half ventures into a darker, more melancholic ambiance with intensified musical passages. Thematically, the tracks explore a profound yearning for another place, whether through dreams, drugs, or death, reflecting the essence of the album’s title.
