It has been a magnificent year of progressive rock music. The Blackheart Orchestra has been a favorite band since I first heard them, combining all the wonder of Kate Bush – like vocals with a concept album for the ages.. like we remember from the greatest bands of the genre!

Moon Letters’ follow up was a wonderful sounding surprise. We finally have a charting progressive rock band in Seattle again!

Imaginaerium brought us a beautiful ‘earbook’ full of artwork, photos and lyrics, as well as the history of the Medici family of Italy, from this talented project.

I met Nick Fletcher, from the John Hackett Band. What an honor it was to interview him and review his solo album.

Malcolm Galloway and Hats Off Gentlemen also produced another one of the best albums of the year. He had enough time and talent to also release a solo work as well. He is already at work on the follow up.

Fred Lessing, what a wonderful guy and talent. He shipped his Daymoon CD from Portugal, and it actually made it here, during one of the worst shipping years in American history, post Pandemic. This album was so much fun to listen to and review. Thanks for the interview as well.

Verbal Delirium returned with an enormously powerful progressive rock album to close out the year.

I was also introduced to some wonderful new talent including: Fearful Symmetry, Yesterdays, Rick Miller, Babal, and more, all thanks to Anne-Claire and Bad Dog Promotions. Looking forward to this developing relationship and what it brings next year. Obrasqi and Duncan Parsons of John Hackett’s band were also great surprises I never could have foreseen at the beginning of the year.

Mimesis’ Trilogy, was also a fantastic surprise, and thank you both for the interview.

If you missed any of the albums on this list please use it as a reference to find some wonderful music to fill your day. We need this creative talent in this increasingly cynical and scattered world. Let the music bring us together as it always has and forever will!
